Tonight is the night you’ve been waiting for… so it can be over and better shows can be launched. Sky Atlantic, the new Channel from Sky, launches tonight with Boardwalk Empire leading the pack. It’s fair to say we weren’t blown away by Buscemi knocking about in the prohibition era but let’s take a look at a hastily pasted in list of shows that will be on the channel:
Bored To Death
Curb Your Enthusiasm
How to Make it in America
Six Feet Under
Among that list are four great dramas, four original comedies, one OK drama and three shows I haven’t seen. That is pretty good going and with access to more quality American dramas sure Sky Atlantic beats watching Bid TV.
If however you don’t have Sky, it’s back to buying boxsets or searching for torrents.
Kiernan Shipka is nearly 11 and is acting in one of TVs greatest shows Mad Men. Also she seems to have a better grasp of the English language than me.
Below is a snippet from an interview which you can read in full here.
Q: Do you think you’d act like Sally if your mom was like Betty and your dad was like Don?
A: I think Sally’s actually much better than I would be, given her situation. Sally is really, really reserved. Divorce can be terribly stressful and confusing. Add to that an emotionally unresponsive mother and a physically absent father, I think Sally’s actions are pretty tame. If I was experiencing Sally’s situation, I would be a complete terror of a kid.
She uses big words!
A brief post because I’m feeling a bit spammy today. It turns out that Barack Obama has a great taste in TV and watches one of the same shows as me.
Over at FOX News Mad Men creator Matt Weiner has revealed that he received a letter from Obama saying how much he enjoyed season 3. I bet he loved the bit with the lawn mower.
Oi Cameron! When are you going to write to Breaking Bad? David probably prefers Vampire Diaries.
